The NRL recently issued a breach notice to Warriors assistant coach Richard Agar following an alleged incident during the club's Round 1 loss to the Canberra Raiders in Las Vegas.

The incident involved journalist John Davidson being grabbed by the throat and verbally abused by Agar as the coaching staff walked through the press box at halftime.

The NRL's breach notice includes a $10,000 fine (half suspended), a three-match suspension for Agar, and a mandate for him to undergo education and training.

Warriors CEO Cameron George expressed disappointment in the assistant coach's actions, stating, "We expect the staff to behave professionally at all times." George also confirmed that the club will work closely with the NRL to address the issue and support Agar through the process.

The NRL's action against Agar highlights the league's commitment to maintaining professionalism and respect within the game.

Rugby League Players Association CEO Clint Newton emphasized the importance of ensuring that everyone involved in the sport upholds the highest standards of behavior.

Newton stated, "Rugby League is a sport that places a premium on respect.

It is crucial that everyone involved in the game upholds these values at all times." The breach notice serves as a reminder to coaches, players, and staff about the consequences of failing to adhere to the NRL's code of conduct.

The incident has sparked discussions about the pressures and emotions experienced by coaches and staff during high-pressure games.

While there is an understanding of the intensity of the sport, there is also an expectation for individuals to handle their emotions in a professional manner.

The NRL's decision to issue a breach notice to Agar sends a clear message about the consequences of inappropriate behavior.

Moving forward, it is essential for all involved in rugby league to prioritize respect, integrity, and professionalism in order to uphold the sport's values and maintain a positive image.
