NRL ignoring Panthers' foul play as tactics fly

‘It’s a free for all’: NRL accused of turning blind eye to illegal play as Panthers’ tactic exposed

The NRL is currently in the firing line for turning a blind eye to some questionable tactics that were on display during the Penrith Panthers' victory over the Parramatta Eels in Round 23.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, there were a whopping 11 illegal play the balls in just three sets from the Panthers as they mounted a thrilling comeback.

Some critics are saying that there was only one legitimate play the ball during that time frame.

Talking about the issue on NRL360, Fox League's Paul Crawley suggested that this was a deliberate tactic by the Panthers to speed up the game.

"It's almost as if they've been coached to push the boundaries and quicken the play the ball," Crawley commented during Monday night's NRL 360.

In the world of Rugby League, it's all about pushing the limits and gaining any advantage you can on the field.

But when the tactics start to cross the line, it's up to the NRL to step in and ensure fair play prevails.

Let's hope the league takes a closer look at this issue before it spirals out of control.
