"We're looking forward to the battle and the crowd is always amazing," New Zealand captain James Fisher-Harris said ahead of the semi-final against Tonga.
Kalyn Ponga is poised to return for Saturday's match at McDonald Jones Stadium, 23 days after breaking his arm.
The Newcastle fullback fractured his forearm in New Zealand's World Cup opener against Australia on October 15, his Test debut, and has not played since.
He stayed with the Kiwis during a demanding recovery and is set to be named in Stacey Jones' side.
Jones has not confirmed whether Ponga will start, but he could replace Keano Kini and is expected to wear an arm guard.
"The main thing for him (Ponga) was making sure he ticks every box and is confident to play," Jones said.
Knights hooker Phoenix Crossland, suspended after tackling Nathan Cleary in the NRL preliminary final, will also join the 19-man squad.
"We'll make that decision when the time comes but he'll be in the 19-man squad," Jones said.
The two additions mean two original squad members will miss out, with Jones to decide on Friday evening.
Fisher-Harris said New Zealand had learned from its narrow semi-final defeat to Australia in Leeds four years ago: "I thought we played really well in that game and a few moments cost us, we've learned from that."
