New Zealand Warriors face finals questions

The best NRL tries from the New Zealand Warriors | 2022

Wayde Egan's re-signing gives the Warriors less reason to target the hooker market heavily as November 1 approaches.

Andrew Webster's team finished in the top two in 2026, but home losses in the qualifying final and semi-final ended its campaign.

Webster has now managed just one win from six finals matches with the club, despite a contract extension beyond the end of the decade.

The Warriors have stability on and off the field, but their September results remain a concern after another strong season.

Twenty players are already contracted through 2028: Grant Anderson, Tanah Boyd, Erin Clark, Wayde Egan, James Fisher-Harris, Jackson Ford, Leka Halasima, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Eddie Ieremia-Toeava and Alofiana Khan-Pereira.

The group also includes Jacob Laban, Jye Linnane, Sam McIntyre, Haizyn Mellars, Jason Salalilo, Tanner Stowers-Smith, Taine Tuaupiki, Demitric Vaimauga, Will Warbrick and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

Rocco Berry, Kurt Capewell, Samuel Healey, Ali Leiataua, Te Maire Martin, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Riley Price are separately listed as the club's November 1 decisions approach.

Capewell is likely to retire, while Halasima's emergence shapes the club's second-row plans; the centres also need reinforcements.
