Phoenix Crossland is available again after serving a four-game suspension and could feature in New Zealand's World Cup semi-final against Tonga on Saturday night.
The Newcastle hooker was suspended for a hip-drop tackle that broke Nathan Cleary's ankle during the Knights' preliminary-final win over Penrith.
Kalyn Ponga is also in contention, named on New Zealand's extended bench just 22 days after breaking his arm.
He played for more than 20 minutes with the injury in New Zealand's tournament-opening 24-22 defeat to Australia, then had surgery in the hope of returning for the finals.
Newcastle centre Dane Gagai, who played alongside Ponga in the Knights' 19-18 NRL grand-final loss to the Sydney Roosters a month ago, praised his toughness.
"So I've got no doubt he'll do everything he can to make sure he can take that field," Gagai said. "He won't put himself before the team but we'd obviously love to have him out there."
Gagai said New Zealand would welcome Crossland's energy in the do-or-die match at McDonald Jones Stadium.
"He's awesome to have around the place," Gagai said. "So I'm definitely looking forward to that and I'm super happy for him."
