Nathan Merritt, former South Sydney Rabbitohs winger, is at the center of a positive update after suffering a serious adverse reaction to prescribed pain medication.

Over the weekend, news broke that Merritt was fighting for his life after collapsing at his auntie's house.

He was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital, where he is currently believed to be on life support.

However, there has been some improvement in his condition.

According to News Corp, Merritt's organs have been impacted, but his lung capacity has increased in the last 24 hours.

A friend of Merritt's spoke to the Daily Telegraph, stating, "Nathan is still serious and he's not out of the woods but there is a slight improvement." They also mentioned that there are some encouraging signs and expressed hope that Merritt can continue to get better every day, although the process is slow.
