Murray's ban loophole, Hynes return on horizon

Fresh twist in Cameron Murray's ban for South Sydney as Nicho Hynes on verge of stunning Sharks return

Cameron Murray, the skipper of South Sydney Rabbitohs, is facing a fresh twist in his suspension saga as he may now miss the start of the 2025 season due to a three-game ban.

The Rabbitohs are strategizing to potentially exploit an NRL loophole by having Murray serve part of his ban during a Kangaroos match in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Sharks may be in for a stunning boost as Nicho Hynes, their talisman, is on the verge of making a return before the finals footy kicks off.

Murray's suspension stemmed from a head-high tackle on Tyson Frizell, leading to a failed attempt by the club to downgrade his ban from two games to none.

Unfortunately, Murray's plea was unsuccessful and he now faces a three-game ban for a grade two careless tackle.

With only two games left in the 2024 season for the Rabbitohs, Murray is set to miss crucial matches against the Panthers and their local rivals, the Roosters.

"It's very tough to come out on top at the judiciary these days...a tough night at the judiciary pretty much sums up the Rabbitohs' season," remarked Michael Chammas on SEN Radio.
