After making a stellar debut against Australia in the Pacific Championships opener, Sualauvi Faalogo has caught the attention of the Melbourne Storm.

The rookie fullback, just 20 years old, showcased his skills and potential during the match, accumulating an impressive 63 meters from 14 carries, along with 11 tackle busts, an offload, and a linebreak.

The Storm, recognizing Faalogo's talent, are now planning to double his contract before next season.

Currently on a development list contract with a salary of $60,000 per year, Faalogo's contract is set to at least double in 2024 as the Storm look to promote him to the team's top 30.

Storm's general manager, Frank Ponissi, expressed his confidence in Faalogo, stating, "We plan for him to be in the top 30 (next year).

He is a star, but an even better young man." Ponissi also revealed that Faalogo is locked down to the club, with an option to extend his contract until 2025.

Prior to his debut, Faalogo received praise from Samoa coach Ben Gardiner, who noted his maturity beyond his years.

Ponissi echoed this sentiment, stating, "He's not the young guy who stands back and doesn't say anything.

He's the guy who is prepared to talk when needed and do his job when he is needed.

That's the type of commitment we've had amongst the group all week."

With his impressive performance and the Storm's plans to invest in his future, it seems that Faalogo has a bright rugby league career ahead of him.
