The Melbourne Storm is fully immersed in its pre-season preparations, aiming to clinch the premiership this year. With players returning from international commitments, the club recently conducted its first training session featuring the entire 2026 squad.

General Manager of Football Frank Ponissi spoke to the Storm's media, emphasizing the significance of welcoming back key players such as Harry Grant and Jahrome Hughes. He noted, "They're quality players, so the intensity of training goes to another level." Ponissi also highlighted their leadership qualities, stating, "Also, they're leaders, they lead us on and off the field, so you want your leaders around the group."

Eliesa Katoa, who has joined the squad for pre-season activities, is another focal point. After being ruled out for the entire 2026 season due to a brain injury suffered while on international duty, there were questions about his ongoing involvement with the team.
