Melbourne Storm, once again proving themselves as top contenders, have secured a top-two spot in the lead-up to the finals.

This allows coach Craig Bellamy to strategically manage his players as they gear up for the playoffs.

Following their hard-fought victory over Penrith, Melbourne Storm are in a strong position to potentially claim the minor premiership.

With a tough schedule ahead, including matches against the Dolphins, North Queensland, and Brisbane, Bellamy is considering giving some key players a well-deserved rest.

The Queensland teams they will face still have hopes of making it to the finals, so facing a depleted Storm lineup could work in their favor.

However, Bellamy is focused on ensuring his team is in peak condition for the playoffs, even if it means resting some players in the final regular season games.

"We have some players we would like to rest," Bellamy stated.

"It will ultimately come down to their input and whether we decide to rest them for one game or spread it out over three games.

We want to make sure we are in the best possible position heading into the playoffs."
