The Queensland Maroons have announced a 20-man squad for Game 2 of the 2025 State of Origin series, but have not provided the team in positional order.
Head coach Billy Slater revealed significant changes, most notably the exclusion of bench second-rower Beau Fermor and veteran halfback Daly Cherry-Evans.
Fermor, who played limited minutes in the series opener, did not retain his spot; meanwhile, Cherry-Evans faced criticism for his poor performance, with Queensland managing only one try in the last 160 minutes of play, leading to consecutive losses at Suncorp Stadium for the first time in nearly three decades.
Additionally, Jesse Arthars and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki, who were part of the extended squad for Game 1, have also been dropped.
The squad for the trip to Perth features ten-time Origin second-rower Kurt Capewell, along with Canberra Raiders middle forward Corey Horsburgh, and promising young players including Melbourne Storm centre Jack Howarth and Brisbane Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam.
