NRL legend Mark Carroll has weighed in on the antics of Brisbane Broncos star Reece Walsh, admitting he doesn't mind players wearing nail polish or sunglasses in the sheds as long as they put in the hard yards.
The Broncos have kicked off pre-season training under new coach Michael Maguire, who is determined to instill a culture of hard work and dedication.
After a disappointing season that saw the Broncos plummet from grand finalists to 12th place on the NRL ladder, there have been accusations of the players becoming "rock stars" and letting their egos get the best of them.
Maguire's main objective is to change this culture and ensure the players earn the right to be confident.
Earlier reports suggested that Maguire wouldn't tolerate certain behaviors, such as wearing nail polish or sunglasses in the dressing room, actions that Walsh has been spotted doing in the past.
Despite wearing sunnies before the 2023 grand final, it's predicted that Maguire will crackdown on what has been labelled as "arrogant" behavior by some.
Dean Ritchie, a prominent reporter, believes that Maguire will shake things up at the club to rein in the egos that have spiraled out of control.
It's likely that players won't be seen sporting nail polish or sunglasses in the dressing room under Maguire's regime.
Time will tell if this shift in attitude will lead to success on the field for the struggling Broncos.
