Manzelmann has been appointed captain of the North Queensland Cowboys, making her the second youngest in the club's history at 23 years and 217 days by the season's kickoff.

She follows co-captain Tom Dearden, who is 22 years and 362 days old, and Cowboys Life Member Johnathan Thurston, who was 23 years and 325 days at his appointment.

Manzelmann is a significant player for the team, being the Cowboys' inaugural NRLW signing ahead of their debut season in 2023.

She has played in all 18 matches and was named Player of the Year in the inaugural season.

Dibb, entering her third season as co-captain, is recognized as one of the NRL's top game managers.

Her former co-captain Tallisha Harden will take a step back from the captaincy this season as part of a succession plan established by NRLW Head Coach Ricky Henry.
