Manly Sea Eagles Dismiss Coach Seibold Early

The Manly Sea Eagles have made a shocking decision to dismiss Anthony Seibold just three matches into the 2026 NRL season.

After a Round 1 match where they relinquished a lead against the 2025 minor premiers, the Canberra Raiders, ending in a golden point loss, the team has since allowed over 30 points in games against both the Newcastle Knights and the Sydney Roosters.

Their recent performances have not met the expected level, leading the board to take decisive action following a disappointing 2025 season.

The announcement was made on Friday evening, shortly after initial reports surfaced.

"The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have today confirmed that Head Coach Anthony Seibold will depart the Club effective immediately," the official statement read.

"The Sea Eagles thank Anthony for his service and contribution to the Club and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

"The Club is disappointed with its start to the season but remains focused on making the 2026 season a success."

"The Club will shortly confirm the appointment of an interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season."

Following the defeat against the Roosters, Seibold expressed confidence about his position, noting that he had just signed a two-year extension and was not concerned about his future.
