Manly Prop Matt Lodge Seeking Overseas Contract

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

Manly Sea Eagles prop Matt Lodge, a seasoned player in the league, appears to be considering opportunities outside the NRL for his next contract.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph, Lodge is contemplating a transition to the Super League, with several clubs presenting offers as the experienced forward assesses potential options for the remainder of his career.

At 30, Lodge participated in 12 matches for the Sea Eagles in 2025, including the last eight consecutively, but now seems likely to part ways with the club.

Although the Sea Eagles had left room for Lodge to remain on similar terms, the recent interest from overseas has complicated matters.

Reports indicate that multiple Super League teams are vying for Lodge's signature, as the former player for Brisbane Broncos, New Zealand Warriors, and Sydney Roosters is seen as a strong and experienced addition to any forward line.

While no final decision has been made, it is believed that Lodge is seriously considering a move abroad as he nears the end of his professional career.
