Manly's football department has undergone major changes, including the departure of head coach Anthony Seibold after three games of the 2026 season.

The Sea Eagles are in talks with Brent Kite about an assistant coaching position under Kieran Foran, with an appointment expected within a week.

Kite, 45, has worked in Gold Coast security since stepping away from professional rugby league.

He played 221 matches for Manly from 2005 to 2013, won two premierships and the Clive Churchill Medal, and represented Australia, Tonga and the NSW Blues.

He ended his NRL career with Penrith in 2015 and shared Manly's 2011 grand-final victory with Foran.

Foran started 2026 as an assistant to Seibold, alongside Jim Dymock, before taking over as head coach; Jon Clarke also supported the transition.

Peter Gentle, Clarke and Aaron Greaves have since left the club, while retired hooker Lachlan Croker is developing as a coach.

Former NRL player David Penna is set to replace Brett Kimmorley as Manly's NSW Cup coach.

Kite's potential return would reunite him with Foran as the Sea Eagles reshape their staff and pursue a return to the finals.
