Kiwis coach Michael Maguire has announced a 21-man squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships, with seven potential debutants included.

Among them are Fa'amanu Brown and Leo Thompson from the Knights, as well as Wiremu Greig, Keano Kini, Griffin Neame, Matt Timoko, and Naufahu Whyte.

They will be making their first appearance for the national team in the game against Samoa on October 21.

In the front row, Premiership-winning props James Fisher-Harris and Moses Leota are expected to start together, forming a strong engine room.

They will be joined by Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Joseph Tapine, Briton Nikora, and Isaiah Papali'i, creating a formidable lineup.

The hooking role is still up for grabs, with Danny Levi, Kieran Foran, and Nu Brown all being considered.

This decision comes as Brandon Smith and Jeremy Marshall-King are unavailable for selection.

The squad also sees the return of Danny Levi, who last played for New Zealand at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Additionally, Jamayne Isaako, the leading points and try-scorer in 2023, is back after representing the Kiwis during their 2019 tour of Great Britain.

Overall, the Kiwis' squad for the Pacific Championships is filled with a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers, providing a strong foundation for success in the upcoming tournament.
