In a move that could rival a last-minute try, Michael Maguire has made a game-changing call by confirming that Trent Barrett will be part of his coaching team at the Broncos come 2025.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Adam Reynolds' retirement revelation, adding an extra layer of drama to the Red Hill club.

Maguire, known for his strategic plays on the field, has shown his intent to honor the deals put in place by previous coach Kevin Walters, ensuring that Barrett and fellow assistant Ben Te'o will have a crucial role in shaping the Broncos' future.

With Barrett and Te'o joining former Maroons hooker Matt Ballin by Maguire's side, the stage is set for an exciting 2025 NRL season.

Walters, who made the initial move by appointing Barrett and Te'o, was unfortunately sidelined before he could see his plans come to fruition.

However, Maguire has swooped in to give them the opportunity to prove their worth next season, much to the relief of Te'o.

"I don't sweat the small stuff.

I trust that things will fall into place," said Te'o in an interview with Code Sports.

"After years of hard work in the Queensland Cup and as an NRL assistant under Wayne Bennett, I believe I've earned my stripes.

If I'm up to scratch, they'll want to keep me around.

I have confidence in what I can bring to the table."

With Maguire at the helm, Barrett and Te'o can now focus on the game ahead, ready to tackle any challenges that come their way as they prepare to make their mark on the Broncos' coaching staff.

With teamwork, dedication, and a winning mindset, they are poised to lead the team to victory in the upcoming season.
