Brisbane Broncos star Reece Walsh is making waves as he kicks off the 2026 pre-season, with coach Michael Maguire expressing admiration for the fullback's impressive fitness and attitude during training at Red Hill.

After winning the Clive Churchill Medal in last year's grand final, Walsh is once again demonstrating his readiness as the Broncos gear up to defend their title. He has garnered attention for both his excellent physical condition and steadfast mindset.

Although Walsh's recent "Ripped Reece" post on social media ignited much discussion, Maguire has downplayed its significance, affirming that the 23-year-old has returned in exceptional shape.

"He's got a bit of fun about him," Maguire told the Daily Telegraph.

"It's nice to see his personality and it keeps everyone entertained, but he's in good shape too, which is good."

Walsh concluded the 2025 season with outstanding performances, leading the Broncos to a remarkable finals series that ended their 19-year premiership drought.

His Grand Final showcase against the Melbourne Storm has already been dubbed by some as possibly the greatest individual performance in a decider.
