Michael Maguire, the coach of Brisbane Broncos, has addressed the speculations regarding Adam Reynolds possibly not being part of the team staff next season.
Reynolds quickly retracted his comments from last week, stating it was his choice not to participate in the final two games of the current season.
He explained that the issue had been "blown out of proportion," adding that the backlash aimed at Maguire was unwarranted.
Before the Broncos faced Melbourne Storm, it was announced that the experienced halfback would miss the last two matches due to a calf injury.
The 2025 premiership-winning halfback appeared on NRL 360, asserting he was able to play and that the decision was not his, describing it as "news to him."
The situation surrounding Reynolds generated significant media attention due to the conflicting information released.
On Wednesday, Maguire confirmed that Reynolds would indeed be a part of the Broncos' staff next season.
However, he did not specify what Reynolds' role would entail.
"We're working through what his role will be. He'll be around the club for sure. Where that's going to land, we're still working the way through that," Maguire stated.
"It would be crazy not to use Reyno. He's going to be a big part, he always will be. The legacy that he's been able to leave here is pretty special.
"He's going to have many roles here."
