The Wests Magpies took a tough hit, going down 30-8 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in a grueling Round 13 clash in the Knock On Effect NSW Cup at Redfern Oval.

The Rabbitohs, led by captain Chase Chapman, showed their dominance early on with a solid third try converted by Brent Hawkins, giving them a commanding 18-4 lead at halftime.

Despite a valiant effort from the Magpies, who managed to get on the board in the second half thanks to centre Steven Taupau Sako, the Bunnies proved too strong in the end.

Second rower Maila Aluni-Chanfoon and hooker Ryan Gray were standout performers, each scoring a double to seal a convincing five-tries-to-two victory.

Looking ahead, the Magpies will regroup and focus on their next challenge as they face off against the Raiders in a pivotal home game at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday 8th June.

The team will be looking to bounce back and show their true potential on the field.
