Luke Phillips, a former premiership-winning fullback with experience at four different NRL clubs, has taken on a head coaching position for the 2026 season.
After last playing in the NRL in 2002, Phillips has been appointed as head coach of the Manly Sea Eagles' Under-17s Lisa Fiaola Cup team for the upcoming season.
Having previously overseen women's programs at the North Sydney Bears, St George Illawarra Dragons, and Sydney Roosters, he brings extensive knowledge to the Sea Eagles as he prepares to guide the next generation of talent through the junior representative grades.
A former referee, the goal-kicking fullback enjoyed a seven-year playing career in the NRL before retiring. During his time in the league, he made 105 appearances and scored 398 points playing for the Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys, Manly Sea Eagles, and Sydney Roosters.
The Sea Eagles have also announced that Ray Windle will coach the Under-19s Tarsha Gale Cup squad, while former Australian Schoolboys forward Thomas Giles has been appointed as the new coach for the Under-17s Harold Matthews team. Windle will be overseeing the girls for the fourth consecutive season, having previously been significantly involved with the Wests Tigers Cubs program.
