The PNG Chiefs revealed on Sunday that Zac Lomax has signed a three-year contract, running from 2028 until the close of the 2030 season.
The player, formerly associated with the Dragons and Eels, marks the fifth addition to the PNG Chiefs roster as they prepare for their inaugural season.
Lomax has openly expressed his wish to return to rugby league after attempting to join the Melbourne Storm, following his release request from the Parramatta Eels at the end of 2025.
Currently, Lomax is signed with the Western Force in the Super Rugby competition, where his contract lasts through the end of the 2027 season.
Since his arrival at Western Force in March, he has made seven appearances, scoring two tries and registering a try assist.
During the past week, he toured the Chiefs' facilities in Port Moresby and met with club officials, alongside teammate Joseph Manu.
Prior to engaging with the PNG Chiefs, he declined an opportunity to join the Melbourne Storm for the 2027 season, despite an agreement in principle for a player swap involving Jack Howarth moving to Parramatta.
The 26-year-old has played 133 NRL matches since his debut in 2018, with 114 games for the St George Illawarra Dragons and 19 for the Parramatta Eels in 2025.
Designated as Chiefs player 005, the winger/centre joins others like Jarome Luai, Alex Johnston, Matty Lees, and Connor Watson, all of whom have signed on as the club gears up to officially enter the competition in 2028, with Willie Peters as head coach.
