Former Manly Sea Eagles front-rower Kurt De Luis has secured a new contract that will allow him to continue his rugby league career through at least the end of next season.
Having last played in the NRL in 2022, De Luis has signed an extension with the Burleigh Bears, a feeder club for the Brisbane Broncos in the QLD Cup reserve-grade competition. This agreement ensures he will remain with the Bears until at least the end of the 2026 season.
The decision to retain the 29-year-old follows an impressive performance last season, where he scored one try, achieved 15 tackle busts, accumulated 935.7 post-contact metres, completed 599 tackles, and tallied a total of 2483 running metres (averaging 118 per match) across 21 appearances for the Bears.
De Luis brings significant experience to the squad, having previously played 12 matches for the Manly Sea Eagles between 2021 and 2022, as well as competing in back-to-back NSW Cup Grand Finals for the North Sydney Bears in the subsequent two seasons.
