The NRL's Match Review Committee has made a significant decision regarding Apisai Koroisau, imposing a hefty suspension for a hip-drop tackle on Noah Martin of the Canberra Raiders.
Koroisau faces a Grade 2 dangerous contact accusation, potentially missing three matches if he enters an early plea. If he chooses to contest the charge and is found guilty, the suspension could extend to four matches.
With this being his third incident this season, the MRC has taken a firm stance against the Tigers' standout player, who already found himself in the sin-bin due to his actions.
Additionally, Koroisau's teammate Fonua Pole was charged with a grade 1 shoulder charge in the game's 70th minute, facing a $1500 fine if he opts for an early plea.
On the opposite side, Raiders' Corey Horsburgh received a grade 1 careless high tackle charge on Sione Fainu, which carries a $1000 fine, potentially rising to $1500 if he contests it.
Although Koroisau was also involved in a dangerous throw during the match, this action was not reviewed by the committee.
Consequently, the Tigers will be without their key hooker for three crucial games against the Cronulla Sharks, Melbourne Storm, and Manly Sea Eagles.
Koroisau, along with Pole and Horsburgh, has until midday (AEST) on Saturday to submit their pleas.
