Knights' Young Gun: Still on the Sidelines, Healing

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The Newcastle Knights have announced that Fletcher Sharpe, a standout player this season, is still hospitalized in Perth.

The five-eighth and fullback was unable to complete the game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs due to severe abdominal pain.

Subsequent evaluations revealed that Sharpe is being treated for a lacerated kidney.

He is expected to remain in the hospital for several days, with medical staff from Newcastle staying to monitor his condition.

While he will eventually return to the Eastern seaboard after receiving medical clearance, there is currently no timeline for his return to play, with no estimates provided at this time.
