The Newcastle Knights have pulled off a sensational comeback to secure a thrilling 26-20 victory over the Canberra Raiders, thanks to a crucial penalty try awarded to fullback sensation Tamika Upton in the 69th minute.
In a nail-biting contest, the Knights had to dig deep and show true grit as they fought their way back from behind not once, but twice.
Winger Sheridan Gallagher and Upton both stepped up with late tries to seal the win and keep their unbeaten streak alive in the NRLW.
The Raiders came out swinging, with fullback Apii Nicholls linking up with McKenzie Wiki early on to put the Knights on the back foot.
Star playmaker Zahara Temara extended Canberra's lead soon after, capitalizing on a slick offload from lock Simaima Taufa to set up halfback Ashleigh Quinlan for a try.
But the Knights refused to back down, with captain Hannah Southwell crashing over for a crucial try.
Winger Lilly-Ann White then made her mark with a debut try, thanks to some brilliant play from Upton creating space for her out wide.
It was a match full of twists and turns, but in the end, the Knights showed true champion spirit to come out on top.
The win will no doubt go down in Rugby League history as a classic tale of resilience and determination.
