The Gold Coast Titans put up a strong fight in their NRLW Grand Final against the Newcastle Knights, but ultimately fell short with a 24-18 loss at Accor Stadium.
Led by their talented fullback Tamika Upton, the Knights made a comeback in the first half, scoring three tries in just seven minutes.
Upton herself scored two late tries to secure a consecutive title for her team.
Despite finishing last on the ladder in 2022, Gold Coast coach Karyn Murphy can take pride in her young team's performances this season.
However, they were unable to hold on against the well-drilled Knights.
The Titans started the game stronger, breaking the deadlock after 14 minutes with a try from Jamie Chapman.
Zara Canfield extended their lead with a penalty goal after 20 minutes.
But the defending premiers quickly turned the tide, scoring three tries in a short span to take a four-point lead at halftime.
