Knights' Sharpe still recovering, Perth's got his back

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The Newcastle Knights have confirmed that Fletcher Sharpe remains hospitalized in Perth following an injury.

The young five-eighth and fullback, recognized as one of the team's top performers this season, could not finish the game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs due to "sharp abdominal pain." Subsequently, it was revealed that Sharpe is being treated for a lacerated kidney.

He is expected to stay in the hospital for several days, with Knights medical staff monitoring his condition on-site.

While plans are in place for him to return to the Eastern seaboard once he is cleared, there is currently no timeline for his return to play, and no estimates have been provided, whether speculative or otherwise.
