Phil Gould has given an update on the injury status of Bulldogs recruit Connor Tracey, much to the relief of Canterbury fans.

It seems that Tracey's return to training has been swift, as he is set to make his comeback in Round 2 of the NSW Cup.

This is a positive development considering the initial prognosis had him sidelined until Round 6.

The ankle injury occurred just before Tracey's move to the Bulldogs, during a training session with his former team, the Cronulla Sharks.

Journalist Michelle Bishop revealed the unfortunate timing of the accident, stating that it happened a mere 24 hours before Tracey signed his new contract with Canterbury.
