The nib Newcastle Knights were defeated 22-18 by the Canberra Raiders at McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday night.
The match, part of the Beanie for Brain Cancer Round, took place in front of 17,527 fans.
The Knights fell behind early, trailing 16-0 at halftime.
Despite a spirited second-half performance, they could not overcome the deficit.
The team will take a break before returning home on July 12th to face the Melbourne Storm.
Throughout the match, the Knights' defense held strong initially, despite the Raiders enjoying much of the early possession.
