Justin Holbrook has secured the position of head coach for the Newcastle Knights, who are coming off a disappointing season as NRL wooden spooners in 2026.
The Knights announced after a board meeting on Monday that the former halfback Holbrook would return to coaching in the NRL next year, marking a return less than three years after his dismissal from the Titans.
The club confirmed the appointment, which includes a three-year contract, based on the recommendation of a subcommittee comprised of five members, including the Knights' last premiership-winning coach, Michael Hagan.
"Following a thorough selection process, Justin was unanimously chosen as the best candidate to lead the club into a new era," the Knights stated.
