Fletcher Hunt, following an impressive debut NRL season that commenced in Round 11, has secured a contract extension with the Newcastle Knights that will keep him with the team until the end of 2027.
According to reports from zerotackle.com, Hunt's new agreement will promote him to an NRL development contract for 2025 and 2026, and elevate him to the club's Top 30 roster in the 2027 season.
Peter O'Sullivan, the Newcastle Knights Head of Recruitment, expressed his enthusiasm about Hunt's extension, highlighting the player's strong work ethic and inherent talent.
He stated, "Fletcher's hard work and competitive nature have earned the respect of his teammates and staff.
This contract upgrade and extension is a fitting reward." O'Sullivan further noted, "It is remarkable how quickly he has established himself in just one year in the system; this is quite unique for such a young player, especially coming from a small country area."
Hunt's rapid development and performance have evidently impressed the club, indicating a promising future for the young talent.
