Pilot Medical Update: Hiroti & Dykes
The Sharks have reported significant injuries to players Mawene Hiroti and Kade Dykes.
Hiroti sustained a high-grade MCL strain in his left knee during the game against the Wests Tigers, forcing him to leave the field in the first half.
Scans confirmed the severity of his injury, and he is projected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.
This comes as a setback for Hiroti, who had been performing well since taking over the centre position from KL Iro, who has missed four games due to a hamstring strain.
On the other hand, Kade Dykes faced another serious injury while playing for the Newtown Jets.
He ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee after just a few matches back from a previous long-term knee issue.
Dykes will require surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
His injury occurred during a match against the Wests Magpies in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup at Lidcombe Oval.
Both injuries reflect tough circumstances for the Sharks as they manage their roster moving forward.
