Kaiyah Atai scored a try, made three line breaks and assisted another in the Kiwi Ferns' record 92-0 defeat of France.
The Warriors back-rower had made her debut in New Zealand's 18-12 tournament-opening win over Fiji.
Atai and her mother, Sharlene, became the first mother-daughter representatives for the Kiwi Ferns this month.
Sharlene played in New Zealand's 2000 World Cup final win over Great Britain and its 34-0 victory over Australia in 2008.
She returned to the national side at 40 for the 2017 World Cup, when Kaiyah watched her play in the final at Suncorp Stadium.
"I flew over to support her in the final - unfortunately they lost, but it was just so cool to be around that environment when I was young. And some of the Kiwi Ferns she played with, I'm now playing with in this World Cup," Kaiyah said.
Atai was the Warriors' rookie of the year in 2025 and earned the club's player of the year award this season, averaging 97 metres and 29 tackles per game.
After playing for Cook Islands in 2023-24, she said, "It's so cool that I get to represent both my cultures."
The Kiwi Ferns face PNG Orchids next, aiming to top Pool B; a final against Australia on November 15 at Suncorp Stadium is a likely target.
"We're here at a World Cup for a reason, and we're wanting to make that final and push the Aussies, who've won the last three World Cups," Atai said.
