The 2023 IRL Golden Boot nominees have been announced, with Kiwis captain James Fisher-Harris, lock Joseph Tapine, and Kangaroos prop Payne Haas in the running for the prestigious award.
The trio are in contention to become the first running forward to win the Golden Boot in 20 seasons, after their outstanding performances on the international stage.
Fisher-Harris and Tapine played pivotal roles in New Zealand's historic 30-0 victory over Australia in the Pacific Cup final, while Haas has been a standout for the Kangaroos.
The last running forward to win the Golden Boot was former Great Britain captain Andy Farrell, highlighting the rarity of such an achievement in the modern game.
The winners of the 2023 Golden Boot awards for men, women, and wheelchair rugby league will be announced in the coming weeks.
