The Kid Laroi, a Sydney native and international recording artist, made quite the splash with his NRL Grand Final performance.

The Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum, chart-topping musician strutted his stuff on stage at Accor Stadium, setting the scene for the Storm and Panthers to go head to head.

Despite his efforts to get the crowd pumped up, fans couldn't help but notice one thing stealing the spotlight - the smoke machines.

As the 21-year-old grooved around the stage, viewers were left squinting through the thick smoke, trying to catch a glimpse of the rising star.

In true sporting fashion, spectators were quick to share their thoughts on the performance, with many agreeing that the smoke machines were the real MVP of the show.

While the Kid Laroi's energy and stage presence were commendable, it was hard to ignore the hazy cloud that enveloped the entire performance.

All in all, it was a performance that certainly got people talking - whether it was about the music or the mysterious smoke-filled stage.

But hey, in the world of show business, sometimes it's the special effects that steal the limelight.
