Fathers Day delight: Kiana to create history with Eels debut

Kiana Takairangi is set to make history this Sunday when she debuts with the Eels NRLW team, becoming part of the first father-son-daughter trio to compete at the highest level for the same club, following in the footsteps of her father Louis and brother Brad.

Having previously been part of Newcastle's 2022 premiership-winning squad, Kiana is making her return to the NRLW after a year, taking the wing position as selected by Eels coach Steve Georgallis for the Round 10 match against Wests Tigers.

Louis and Brad were present for Kiana's jersey presentation following Saturday's captain's run and will support her in a large crowd at CommBank Stadium during the Father's Day double-header, where the NRL team will face the Knights.
