Despite the growing calls for Reece Walsh to replace James Tedesco as the Kangaroos' fullback, Tedesco remains at the centre of a brutal selection saga.

Walsh, the young gun from the Broncos, has been in outstanding form for both his club and the Maroons, contributing greatly to their Origin series success.

However, Tedesco's performances for the high-flying Broncos throughout the 2023 season cannot be overlooked.

Meanwhile, Kalyn Ponga of the Newcastle Knights has experienced a stunning resurgence since returning to his preferred position of fullback.

Previously experimented with as a five-eighth, Ponga has now established himself as the in-form fullback in the competition.

Another player vying for a representative opportunity is Dylan Edwards of the Panthers.

Despite not yet receiving his first taste of rep footy, the 27-year-old already boasts two premierships and a Clive Churchill Medal.

With such talented options available, the decision to select the Kangaroos' fullback becomes increasingly difficult.

The debate surrounding Tedesco's place in the team intensifies as the performances of Walsh, Ponga, and Edwards continue to impress.

Ultimately, it will be up to the selectors to make the brutal call on who will wear the No.1 jersey for Australia.
