The Kangaroos had an exciting encounter with music legend Jon Bon Jovi during their preparations for the first Ashes Test against England, which is set to take place on Sunday morning, AEDT, in London.

On the eve of the Ashes opener, the Kangaroos met Bon Jovi at Wembley Stadium, where coach Kevin Walters and his team were visibly starstruck by the 63-year-old rock star.

The admiration appeared to be mutual, as Bon Jovi, who has recently returned to touring after facing "daunting" vocal cord surgery, encouraged the team with the words: "Roos, get 'em tomorrow!"

In addition to taking photos with the squad, he demonstrated his athleticism by catching a long pass and was introduced to Walters, even receiving a warm hug from a fan dressed in the green and gold.

Bon Jovi expressed his admiration by referring to the players as "tough sons of bitches" and commented on rugby league, noting it as "football without helmets."

"It was great to see him at training," Walters remarked. "We didn't know that was happening. It was good to get him in and around the boys; he was pretty popular."

He added, "I'm not sure if he's coming to the game, but it was a good boost for the guys to meet him."
