Melbourne Storm front-rower Tui Kamikamica is approaching a critical decision regarding his career, as he has recently attracted the interest of another club.
With no contract secured for the 2026 season, Kamikamica, who has been with the Storm since 2017, faces unprecedented uncertainty in his first-grade career. His tenure with the team could potentially conclude earlier than anticipated.
Although he has a club option for next season, it is unlikely that the Storm will activate it due to ongoing salary cap issues. In recent months, the 31-year-old has been associated with four different teams-Broncos, Cowboys, Knights, and Rabbitohs-although all have since shifted their focus to other players.
Kamikamica's manager recently revealed to News Corp that St Helens RLFC in the Super League is showing interest, especially following their recent signing of Jacob Host from the Rabbitohs.
Nonetheless, Kamikamica prefers to complete his career in Melbourne, albeit this choice may come with a significant pay cut of approximately $260,000. "Tui would love to finish his career at Melbourne, but they have salary-cap pressures," his manager Jeff Jurotte informed News Corp.
