After a remarkable season with the New Zealand Warriors, 2025 NSW Cup Player of the Year Kalani Going has officially announced his departure from the club.
Just under two weeks after leading the Warriors to the 2025 NSW Cup title against the St George Illawarra Dragons, and one day after securing the 2025 State Championship versus the Burleigh Bears, Going is now exploring new opportunities.
At 28 years old, Going is in the prime of his career, having enjoyed arguably his best season yet in 2025. He not only earned the title of NSW Cup Player of the Year but also played a key leadership role as the club's captain.
On a development contract with the Warriors this season, Going showcased his versatility by playing various positions within the forward pack. He also had the chance to make his NRL first-grade debut in 2023 against The Dolphins.
While his future destination remains unknown, he joins fellow players Bunty Afoa and Tom Ale, who have also departed the Warriors following the conclusion of the 2025 NRL season.
"What a way to go out!!! Thanks New Zealand Warriors for the last 3 years I've loved my time here & will always be grateful for this amazing club," Going shared on social media.
"Glad I was able to be part of history."
