Johnston's future secured, records whisper on

Alex Johnston, the last remaining member of the South Sydney Rabbitohs' 2014 premiership team, has secured his future by signing a two-year contract extension.

With only six tries left to surpass Ken Irvine's all-time record of 212, Johnston is poised to make history.

Throughout his impressive career, he has also represented both Australia and Papua New Guinea internationally.

At just 30 years old, Johnston has played 237 matches for the Rabbitohs since his debut in 2014.

His recent contract extension ensures that he will remain with the club until the conclusion of the 2027 NRL season.

"I couldn't be happier to be staying at the club for another two years," Johnston expressed.

He remains optimistic about the club's potential despite recent challenges.

"Despite the recent results, I know we have a strong Club here with quality players, coaches and staff, and I want to be part of returning us to the top of the ladder."
