Matty Johns believes that Bulldogs centre Bronson Xerri is ready to make his State of Origin debut for the Blues this year, despite facing tough competition from the likes of Latrell Mitchell, Stephen Crichton, and Bradman Best.
Xerri's exceptional form and all-round abilities have impressed Johns, who stated that Xerri is a "powerhouse" and a "State of Origin player." After serving a four-year doping ban, Xerri had a successful return to the NRL in 2024 and has continued to shine in the new season, with Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo praising his work ethic and talent.
While Xerri's performance has been outstanding, competition for the NSW centre spots is fierce, with Mitchell, Crichton, Best, and Tom Trbojevic all strong contenders.
Despite the competition, Johns believes that Xerri deserves serious consideration for this year's Origin series and could provide a valuable addition to the Blues squad.
With Xerri's impressive on-field contributions and strong work ethic, he has become a standout player for the Bulldogs and a potential asset for the NSW team.
As the selection process unfolds, Xerri's determination and talent could pave the way for him to achieve his State of Origin debut.
