The London Broncos have officially announced Jason Demetriou as their head coach for the next three years.
Demetriou, who previously coached the South Sydney Rabbitohs before being dismissed, was expected to be the first coach of an upcoming Papua New Guinea-based club in the NRL starting in 2028. However, with his new three-year contract at the Broncos, this possibility has been eliminated.
The Broncos, now under new ownership by Darren Lockyer, are geared up to make a significant impact in the English Super League whenever the club is reintroduced in the revamped competition next year. Several players are reportedly in discussions to join the team.
"London has incredible potential as a rugby league city," Demetriou stated in a club announcement regarding his appointment. "The Club's ambition and the opportunity to help shape its future at this important stage made this an exciting challenge. I can't wait to get started."
The Broncos are proactively preparing for their return to the Super League, also working on establishing a high-performance structure to support their ambitions.
