According to Channel 9's Danny Weidler, Jarome Luai is on the verge of signing with management company Black Money Enterprises, indicating his intention to leave the Penrith Panthers.

Luai, a three-time premiership winner, is recovering from a shoulder injury and was unable to participate in Samoa's Pacific Test series.

As his contract with the Panthers expires at the end of next season, he is free to negotiate with other clubs starting November 1.

Despite the Panthers expressing their desire to retain Luai, they have given him permission to explore other opportunities.

The reigning premiers can offer him a maximum salary of $800,000 per season, but it is believed that he may receive offers exceeding $1 million from rival clubs.

Recently, the Panthers extended fullback Dylan Edwards' contract with a four-year deal reportedly worth $850,000 per year.

Penrith chief Matt Cameron stated that Luai is aware of the club's salary cap capacity and while they want to keep him, the decision ultimately lies with the player.

Cameron emphasized that Luai is a valuable asset and acknowledged that he will attract significant interest in the open market.

The Panthers are supportive of Luai exploring all his options and are in no rush to finalize contract discussions.

The impending announcement of Luai's signing with Black Money Enterprises suggests that he is leaning towards leaving the Panthers in search of a more lucrative contract.

As rival clubs prepare to enter into a bidding war for his services, Luai's decision will have a significant impact on the future of the talented five-eighth.
