Jared Waerea-Hargreaves Facing Permanent Suspension

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Sydney Roosters legend Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, recognized as one of the most contentious enforcers in NRL history, is concluding his career in an unexpected manner.

Following yet another championship victory with Hull KR in the Super League, 'JWH' has decided to retire from professional football, but not before making headlines once again.

In his final match, he faced a unique situation: Waerea-Hargreaves is set to be suspended 'forever' due to receiving two bans during that game.

He was charged with a Grade B shoulder charge and a Grade A infraction for contrary behavior.

This troubling discipline resulted in a two-match suspension; however, because Waerea-Hargreaves is retiring, the penalty will remain inactive, leaving it unresolved as he transitions to the next stage of his career.

Staying true to his legacy, the former premiership winner is ensuring that his name will be remembered in the sport's history. He is returning to Australia to take up a mentorship role with the Roosters.
