Here's a rule modification that the entire NRL community can support.
With just two rounds left in the 2026 NRL home and away season, South Sydney has announced that they have received special approval for Jai Arrow to play in Rounds 26 and 27.
Having played 98 games for Souths since joining from the Titans in 2021, this rule change enables the Rabbitohs to have an additional interchange, allowing Arrow to achieve 100 matches for the club.
"Jai will suit up for, and take part in, the opening seconds of the Rabbitohs round 26 match against Jai's former club, the Gold Coast Titans, on the Gold Coast, and in the round 27 home match against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium, allowing him to register two more NRL games, taking his tally for South Sydney to 100 matches," the club stated.
South Sydney explained that they had submitted a proposal to the NRL, the RLPA, and the Club Consultation Committee for Arrow to officially participate in two more NRL games while he is still physically able to step onto the field.
Earlier this year, Arrow was named as an extended reserve in Round 15 after receiving the heartbreaking diagnosis of motor neurone disease, or MND, at just 31 years old.
However, this time he will be able to play alongside his teammates, if only for a brief moment.
Surely there won't be a dry eye in the stadium.
