Jack Bird flies the Dragon's nest to Tigers yawning

Jack Bird has reportedly made the tough tackle on his future, announcing that he will no longer be taking the field for the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The versatile player has apparently agreed to don the jersey of the Wests Tigers starting in the 2025 NRL season, signing on for a two-year stint.

This move marks a surprising turnaround for the former State of Origin star, who had initially committed to staying with the Red V earlier this year.

However, a change of heart, which was ultimately approved by the club, allowed Bird to test the waters of free agency, where he quickly became a hot prospect for the Wests Tigers.

Under the guidance of coach Benji Marshall, who has been on a recruitment spree with signings like Jarome Luai and Sunia Turuva from the Penrith Panthers, the Tigers are clearly rebuilding their squad.

Reports from The Sydney Morning Herald suggest that Bird will be the latest addition to their roster.

Sources indicate that Bird's representatives informed the Tigers on Friday of his decision to accept their offer of $400,000 per season for the next two years.

This transfer from one joint-venture club to another signifies a new chapter in Bird's career, as he aims to make his mark in the jungle of the NRL.
