Isaako Committed to Dolphins Beyond Contract Year

Dolphins outside back and goal kicker Jamayne Isaako has confirmed his desire to remain with the club beyond 2026 when his current contract ends.

Since the Dolphins' inception in 2023, Isaako has emerged as one of the franchise's most consistent performers. He stands out as the only player to have participated in all 72 matches to date. However, the team faces a selection dilemma and salary cap concerns, which, according to AAP, have delayed a formal contract extension offer for Isaako.

Currently, the winger's contract expires at the end of 2026, and he has been eligible to engage with potential rival clubs for the past three weeks following the November 1 deadline. Nevertheless, he expressed his commitment to staying with the Dolphins, who have narrowly missed out on reaching the finals in both 2024 and 2025.

"I'm in my last year of the contract and negotiating, so still waiting for Terry to table an offer to me," Isaako stated to AAP.

"But I'd love to stay. I love the Dolphins and have been an inaugural player." He highlighted his deep-rooted connections to Queensland, noting, "I've been in Queensland basically my whole career and have a young family here I'm trying to raise. The kids are happy at school and the missus has a good job so I'd love to stay."
